DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™

Study Results

Protocol: 30 individuals underwent a dermatologist-applied acid peel. Following the peel, panelists were randomly assigned a placebo base to one side of the face and the BarrierRepairPRO™ formula to the other side of the face. Efficacy was blindly assessed by the investigator 48 hours after the peel and two weeks after the peel.

Acid Peel Clinical Results

Investigator Efficacy

Antioxidant and Anti-Aging Activation

ANTIOXIDANT
in vitro

DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ scavenges free radicals, protecting skin from damage caused by environmental aggressors.

ELASTASE INHIBITION
in vitro

DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ inhibits elastase activity, helping to maintain integrity of skin’s extracellular matrix and prevent the appearance of aged skin.

GLYCATION INHIBITION
in vitro

DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ helps to inhibit glycation, contributing to maintenance of skin’s extracellular matrix.

In vitro Performance

Wound Closure Rate

Wound Closure Rate

METHOD:

An insert is added to cell culture wells to create a cell-free zone. Following treatment with test articles cell growth is measured.
WOUND CLOSURE RATE

SUMMARY:

DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ increases fibroblast migration at a rate greater than ascorbic acid. At 0.3% topical equivalent DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ supports mechanisms of cellular repair.

Epidermal Barrier Repair

METHOD:

Cells are treated with material of interest and barrier markers are quantified.
CELLS EXPRESSING BARRIER MARKERS

SUMMARY:

DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ increases loricrin and filaggrin expression. At 0.3% topical equivalent DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ supports mechanisms of skin barrier support.

Skin Soothing

METHOD:

Cells are stimulated with an inflammatory cocktail to induce an inflammatory response. Cells subsequently treated with test material and IL-6 protein is quantified.
IL-6 CONCENTRATION

SUMMARY:

DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ decreases IL-6 concentration in stressed cells.
At 0.3% topical equivalent DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ supports anti-inflammatory mechanisms.

Anti-aging

METHOD:

Cells are treated with material of interest and barrier markers are quantified.
ELASTIN PRODUCTION

SUMMARY:

DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ increases elastin production at a rate similar to ascorbic acid. At 0.3% topical equivalent DermCeutical Barrier RepairPRO™ supports mechanisms of anti-aging.
